One of the new features of the iOS 4 is the Application Folders, which allows you to organize your application in to specific groups. Another feature of the app. folders is the is the alert counter that shows you how many alerts application in that folder has.
To create an application folder, touch an icon until it starts vibrating. Then touch and drag related application icons together this will create a folder. To add additional applications to a folder, touch and drag a vibrating application icon to the appropriate folder where you want it go. Press the Home button when done.
